Homes

Much of the work in the Mexicali Valley involves homes.

Families we serve are not passive recipients of aid - often beginning construction themselves by laying foundations or preparing materials. Our teams work alongside them, helping build, expand, or repair homes as needs arise.

Housing opportunities in this region are limited. Traditional home loans are unavailable or unaffordable, and many households include multiple generations living together. Because of this, projects may include new homes, additions, roof repairs, or structural improvements that allow families to remain together safely.

Churches and Community

In addition to homes, we partner with local churches to build or improve sanctuaries, fellowship halls, and auxiliary buildings. These spaces serve as centers for worship, gathering, and community life.

Earlier in the ministry, teams often worked in one community for a few years before moving on. When we began working in Netzahualcóyotl, we encountered a community with a clear vision and a strong desire to do the work themselves. Rather than moving on, we committed to partnering with them.

Working Together

Over the years, this partnership has grown deeper. We have shared building techniques and practical skills, and we have learned just as much in return. Today, projects are identified collaboratively by local leaders, addressing needs both in Netzahualcóyotl and in surrounding communities.

This shared approach has allowed the work to continue beyond individual trips, strengthening local capacity and ownership.

Children's Ministry

In recent years, we have partnered with the local church, Aposento Alto, to hold Vacation Bible School during spring break, providing a meaningful week of activities for children in the community.
